From Aligarh, India to Hong Kong: Richa’s Journey to Inspire Wellness Through Yoga

From Aligarh, India to Hong Kong: Richa’s Journey to Inspire Wellness Through Yoga

Meet The Entrepreneurs
Meet The Entrepreneurs

In the busy neighborhoods of Hong Kong, where life often feels fast and demanding, YogabyRicha has become a welcoming space to slow down and reconnect.

Meet Richa Kushwaha, once a corporate professional in India and Singapore, who turned her own journey of healing into a mission to help others find balance and purpose as the founder of YogabyRicha.

From Aligarh to Entrepreneurship

Richa was born in Aligarh, a small city in India. As a girl from an Indian family, her upbringing has been shaped by a straightforward cultural mindset. Life in her family follows a well-defined path: excel in studies, secure a job, marry a good man, and have children by a certain age. This trajectory is largely influenced by the experiences of those around her.

Richa launched her business in 2021 and became the Founder o. She chose this name intentionally to serve as a constant reminder of why she became a yoga teacher. It reflects her personal journey and keeps her connected to her purpose in this work.

Overcoming the First Challenge

Like many entrepreneurs, Richa’s first hurdle was not external but internal: self-doubt. She questioned whether she could really succeed in this new path. Once she overcame that mental barrier, everything else became manageable. The administrative side of business in Hong Kong was straightforward, and with confidence in her skills, she discovered that building a business could be as rewarding as teaching yoga itself.

Building Connection Through Community

In the years following the COVID-19 pandemic, wellness has taken on new importance, and Richa has been at the heart of this shift. Teaching in Hong Kong, she has cultivated more than just classes, she has built a community. Her sessions emphasize collaboration over competition, encouraging students to motivate and support one another.

For Richa, yoga is not about perfecting a pose. It is about finding connection: with oneself, with others, and with the present moment. This sense of belonging is what makes YogabyRicha truly unique.

Celebrating Milestones, Looking Ahead

For Richa, the meaning of achievement varies from person to person. For her, transitioning from a stable corporate job to becoming a founder was a significant milestone.

Looking forward, her goal is to expand her reach, helping more people experience harmony on physical, mental, and emotional levels. By bridging personal transformation with collective well-being, Richa continues to shape a practice that is as much about community as it is about yoga.

Lessons from the Mat

Much like life in Hong Kong, yoga is about balance between effort and rest, movement and stillness, the individual and the community. Richa’s story reminds us that entrepreneurship is not only about chasing profit. It is about following one’s calling and creating spaces where people can truly thrive.
