Nestled in the heart of Jordan, Bagaicha Restaurant & Bar offers a delightful escape into the world of authentic Nepalese and Indian cuisine. Known for its family-style dining, the restaurant aims to create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Recently reopened after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, Bagaicha is ready to welcome back its loyal patrons and new guests alike.

Meet Tirshana Rai

At the helm of this revitalization is Tirshana Rai, the business development manager of Bagaicha and its sister establishment, Hello Kitchen. As the daughter of the founder, Tirshana has a unique connection to the restaurant's legacy. After spending 11 years in Nepal and Australia, she returned to Hong Kong in 2024, driven by a passion for food and community. Tirshana's dedication is evident as she works tirelessly to breathe new life into Bagaicha, ensuring it remains a beloved spot for locals.

The Meaning Behind the Name

The name "Bagaicha," which translates to "garden" in Nepalese, reflects the restaurant's mission to create a welcoming haven for all. Tirshana explains, "We wanted a place where everyone feels at home, a space that invites family gatherings and celebrations." This philosophy resonates with the local community, making Bagaicha not just a restaurant but a vibrant gathering spot.

A Hub for the Nepalese Community

Jordan has become a central hub for the Nepalese community in Hong Kong, and Bagaicha plays a pivotal role in fostering this connection. Tirshana emphasizes, "We want to create a space where families can come together, share meals, and build lasting memories." By offering authentic cuisine and a warm atmosphere, Bagaicha serves as a cultural touchstone for many.

Looking Ahead

With the restaurant's reopening, Tirshana Rai is optimistic about the future. Her vision includes not only reviving the local dining scene but also expanding the restaurant's reach within the community. "We're here to serve, to connect, and to celebrate our culture," she states passionately. As Bagaicha Restaurant & Bar continues to grow, it stands as a testament to resilience, community spirit, and the enduring power of good food.
