Sprout Heroes is a Hong Kong-based social enterprise making urban farming, nutrition, and sustainable living simple, accessible, and enjoyable.

We sell easy-to-use sprouting kits and seeds that allow people to grow fresh, nutrient-rich food at home in just a few days, without the need for a garden, large space, or prior growing experience. Through our products and workshops, we aim to make growing food something that can easily become part of everyday life.

At the heart of our work is a belief in the importance of food sovereignty and more resilient local food systems in Hong Kong. With the vast majority of Hong Kong’s food imported, we want to help reconnect people with where their food comes from and show that growing some of our own food is possible even in a dense urban environment.

At the same time, we see growing food as a way to support everyday nutrition and wellness. Sprouting offers a simple way to bring fresh, nutrient-dense ingredients into daily meals, while the act of growing food can encourage greater awareness of what we eat and how it is produced.

Through our kits, workshops, and community initiatives, Sprout Heroes is working towards a healthier relationship between people, food, and the planet, making urban farming more approachable while encouraging healthier and more sustainable lifestyles in Hong Kong.

A social enterprise with a purpose: A proportion of our profits goes towards Heroes Too Foundation, an environmental education charity supporting youth in Hong Kong. This means that purchasing a Sprout Heroes product directly contributes to broader environmental education and community impact.

Hands-on environmental impact: Rather than simply educating people about sustainability, we give them a practical way to take action. Growing food at home can help reduce the environmental impact associated with transporting and producing food, while using very little space, water, and resources compared with conventional agriculture.
