About the business
The restaurant Yurt is the very first to introduce the Central Asian cuisine to Hong Kong, bringing not only it's tastes but also culture, history and atmostphere. Named after the traditional nomadic tent where "strangers become family," the space features a warm, earthy, and minimalist design celebrating nomadic culture. They highlight recipes from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. They are also the only restaurant to offer horse meat delicacies in Hong Kong, which they bring straight from Kazakhstan.
What makes it unique
Hong Kong’s first modern Central Asian restaurant, uniquely offering nomadic cuisine, horse meat dishes, and a fully halal, alcohol-free dining concept. Opened in December 2025, the restaurant is founded by Central Asian natives who wanted to introduce the authentic flavors and hospitality of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan to the city. Immersive storytelling: Front-of-house staff provide detailed cultural explanations for unfamiliar dishes, embodying the nomadic ethos that "strangers become family".
